We had a fantastic day at Whittington Castle.

When we arrived we all dressed up as Peasants whilst listening to medieval music to help us feel like we had gone back in time. Then we had a tour of the castle and looked at all of the features we had been learning about.
After our snack, we met Doctor Dave and listened to his interesting Horrible Histories talk. We found out some of the cures and potions that were used to cure the plague and how arrowheads were removed from King Henry V's face.

We pored pretend blood, phloem and bile in Doctor Dave's jars |

Doctor Dave showed us how to check someones health by looking at their wee!! |
In the afternoon, we had a fun role-play quiz. Some of us dressed as Ladies, Guards, Raiders, Servants and Jesters and stayed in role whilst we tried to find clues to solve the quiz.
 |
The Guards did a great job. |
 |
The jesters kept us entertained with their dances and jokes! |
 |
Oh no! The raiders captured Lady Fitzgerald! |
 |
The servants worked very hard today, however, Lady Fitzgerald only paid them one gold coin! So they decided to leave and work for another castle instead. |
 |
Stay down ladies! They're firing arrows through the arrow loops! |
What a fantastic day! If you have any questions about castles please comment and we will try to answer them as we know lots about castles now.
