William Penny Brookes

During our previous Superheroes topic, we studies famous real-life superheroes from our local area. William Penny Brookes was one of the real-life superheroes we learnt about. On Wednesday, Mr Cannon, an expert on William Penny Brookes, came to our school to tell us more about this important person. We found out lots more about school-life in the past; including how they used to exercise. Mr Cannon showed us lots of very old photographs on William Penny Brookes and showed us what we could find out from them. Mr Cannon brought a variety of 'Wenlock' mascots from the modern day Olympics in London 2012. We were even able to hold the Olympic torch which was carried to Much Wenlock.
