Science

Today in Science, we carried out an investigation into forces. We changed the surface of the ramp to find out how the surface changes the speed of the car.
Alex wrote an excellent conclusion: The car went the slowest on the sandpaper because the friction stopped it and the car went the fastest on the plastic because the friction couldn't stop it. Friction is a force a bit like gravity, but the smoother it is travelling on the more friction, the rougher the surface the more friction.

Dan also wrote a super conclusion: The rougher the surface is, like the sandpaper, the harder it is friction. When we moved our foot on the smooth floor, it moved quicker. The car went furthest on the plastic because plastic has less friction than rubber.
